This event is usually held each year on Labor Day Monday, but may change due to picking conditions. To glean the blueberry fields we offer a "Picking for the Food Pantries" day. Pick blueberries for free that day. Keep half of what you pick for yourself and the other half Berry Best Farm will deliver as a donation to a local food pantry.
In 2017 Berry Best Farm donated 173 lbs. of fresh peaches to the following Maine and New Hampshire food pantries:
Seeds of Faith, Rollinsford/S. Berwick
Grant House, S. Berwick
N. Berwick Pantry
Berwick/Somersworth Community Pantry
Rochester Salvation Army
Gerry’s Food Pantry, Rochester
500 pounds of blueberries were picked in the 2016 "Picking for the Pantries" Event!
Update Monday, August 8, 2016: We have an abundance of berries this year. In addition to our regular picking, come help us harvest fruit for the local food pantries. Starting on Wed., August 10th through Sunday, August 14th, pick one bucket of berries for the pantry and a FREE one for yourself. It is a great way to serve our community. Thank you,
Chris and John Bozak
550 lbs. of blueberries were donated to eight local food pantries! Thank you to our customers who helped us help others in our community!
